BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Business owners in Brownsville could receive up to $20,000 with a new program for entrepreneurs.

The Brownsville Community Incentives Corporation (BCIC) announcing the creation of Startup Texas during the Crossroads Festivities today. The local development corporation will now begin accepting applications from local business looking to expand.

They say their goal is to help keep local talent in the region.

“Private lenders have taken a step back and they have not been able to invest with as many small businesses as we would like to see. This program is intended to get them into that next step, through the help of Small Business Administration, of course.”
